สหรัฐอเมริกาและคู่หูตะวันตก
ได้ร่วมกันออกมาตรการลงโทษรัสเซียรอบที่ 3
ในเรื่องความก้าวร้าวและยีดครอง Crimea
แล้วยังเดินหน้าอย่างต่อเนื่องไปในประเทศยูเครน

หนึ่งในสองมาตรการที่ผ่านมา
ได้แต่มุ่งไปที่คนใกล้ชัดกับ
ประธานาธิบดีรัสเซีย Vladimir Putin
แต่ไม่ประสบความสำเร็จมากนัก

รอบที่สาม มีเป้าหมายสำคัญต่อ
ภาคเศรษฐกิจรัสเซียโดยรวมทั้งการเงินและพลังงาน 
นี่คือ กลไกที่มีประสิทธิภาพมากในการลงโทษ 

แต่รัสเซียได้ตอบโต้กับมาตรการดังกล่าว
ด้วยการจำกัดการนำเข้าสินค้าจากอริ
ทำให้ธุรกิจตะวันตกต้องตกใจเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้มาก

แต่ไม่น่าจะสำคัญเท่าไรนัก
เพราะรัสเซียเพียงแค่ขบกัดเล็กน้อย
และเป็นการแสดงอาการตอบโต้มากกว่า

Should Western Businesses Be Worried About Russian Sanctions?

The United States and its Western counterparts have imposed three rounds of sanctions on Russia for its aggressive takeover of Crimea and its continued presence in Ukraine. The first two rounds were aimed at individuals close to Russian president Vladimir Putin, and weren’t very successful. The third round, however, has targeted key sectors of the Russian economy including finance and energy — it’s by far the more powerful of sanctions. But Russia has responded with measures of its own, such as limiting imports. Should Western businesses be alarmed? Not really. Russia’s actions lack bite and are just for show. At least for now…
